We were trick or treating one year on Halloween. Streets were filled with kids and parents going from house to house. Besides the usual 'spooky' homes we were only entertained by the candy we got. So, we decided to take a short cut through a rather dark street and a big front yard. As we were walking we realized we were being shadowed. We could clearly hear steps as we were moving. When we stopped, the noises stopped and quickly picked up. They actually got closer!!!!! Finally, one of us had the idea to turn around on see what was going on. She screamed so loud !!!!! and yelled " Run, Run, Run! do not look back just run and listen..... " we all were really scared and run along with the girl as fast we could at the corner we took a turn and went a bit further. After a while we heard a loud scream and another coming from the direction we just left from. We made it to the corner which we turned on and very carefully tried to look. We asked the girl what it was and why she had asked us to run. She said "Look!" After focusing and looking down the street we saw a lady pushing her daughter in a shopping cart. so, what was so scary and was she screaming? There were 10 or eleven possums, huge fat ones, chasing her!!! The animals even ran up the trees and back down jumping at the lady and her daughter. This might not haven been the spookiest Halloween but it was a scary one! lol
