North America

Asians were the first people to discover America, beating Christopher Columbus by as many as 40,000 years.  Who would have thought that?  These Native Americans didn't find many animals they could tame, but they grew corn, squash, beans, and tobacco.  They also build pyramids and temples.  They established cities that were centers of commerce and culture.  Along with cities came systems of writing, counting, and calendars.  In the 1800s, the Industrial Revolution arrived in North America, and inventors got busy.  Who knew?
